With this, he wants to convey that a person who loves is the one who can actually live his life whereas the one who is selfish is the one who ultimately meets death.

It is true that one should always spread love among all the people as it helps in creating strong bondings and get every people by one's side during the hard phases of life. However, selfish people are self-centred and work only for their own benefit so people are reluctant to help them.

Also, these selfish people never acknowledge the good done by others and hence next time onwards they need to fight their battles alone. People who believe in love and spread it all over are the ones who are helped by others in the most unforeseen circumstances which could have otherwise lead to death( in certain cases).
