If all of the rocks are removed from a desert ecosystem then the population of rock dwelling lizard cannot be survive or will go extinct, if they will not change their dwellings. Species that prey on it will no longer preyed upon as long as their source of food is able to withstand the change. Due to decrease in lizard population would allow insect population to increase. The people who live near or travel the desert might be used lizard as a portion of diet. If those species become scarce or disappear, people would need to find alternate fare. Therefore, the system of life would be out of balance and a new equilibrium would appear.
