let \: us \:  = x \\ x +  \frac{x}{2 } +  \frac{x}{4}  + 1 = 71 \\  \frac{4x + 2x + x}{4}  = 71 - 1 \\  \frac{7x}{4}  = 70 \\ 7x = 70 \times 4 \\ 7x = 280 \\  x = 280 \div 7 \\ x = 40
Hope it help you.

Assume all of us be X

Then half of us will be X/2 and,

Quarter of us will be X/4 and,

You as 1

Together, we all are equivalent to 71.

Therefore, the equation will be:

1+X/2+X/4+X=71

If we take LCM of the left hand side then the new equation will be:

(4+2X+X+4X)/4=71

Take LCM 4 to the right hand side:

4+2X+X+4X=71*4

4+7X= 284

7X=284-4 (sign changes when the sides are changed)

7X=280

X=280/7

X=40

As all of us was assumed as X. Hence, 40 is the answer for all of us.
