all of you understand the density of kerosene, petrol, diesel etc with respect to water. what is your reaction to the act of trying to extinguish the fire from the kerosene lamp with water​

Trying to extinguish kerosene fire by pouring water on it will not work. Kerosene floats on water, pouring water on burning kerosene will cause the kerosene to stay on top of water. This attempt is even more dangerous when the kerosene is in an open container (tin cans, drum, Pyrex, etc) because the kerosene may spill out of the container and also light other things on fire. If you’re doing an experiment with kerosene or any other flammable materials, always have a fire extinguisher ready.
