Answer:

Scientists believe the increase in hydro-meteorological disasters is due to a combination of natural and made-made factors. Global warming is increasing the temperatures of the Earth's oceans and atmosphere, leading to more intense storms of all types, including hurricanes

Climate change has influenced the prevalence of natural disasters. Climate change can raise the risk of extreme weather and can result in the increased risk of droughts and the increased strength of storms, such as tropical cyclones. The elevated levels of water vapor in the atmosphere gives storms the power to emerge.

In the last four decades, the frequency of natural disasters recorded in the Emergency Events Database (EM-DAT) has increased almost three-fold, from over 1,300 events in 1975–1984 to over 3,900 in 2005–2014
