It is true that all plants, humans, and animals are dependent on their surroundings.
All the immediate natural surroundings of man are called as “Environment”. Example - plants, air, wildlife, landforms etc.
The plants, animals and human beings living in an environment are known to be dependent on each other and also on the environment. This interrelationship is called as an ecosystem.
The plants produce food for themselves and they are getting consumed by the herbivores, which in turn get eaten by carnivores.
The basic needs of life like air, water, shelter, food etc. all come from the environment and the living forms are dependent on the surroundings and environment for their survival.
Therefore, it is important to protect the natural environment.
The surrounding or condition in which plants, human being and animals live in or operate which greatly contributes to their survival is known as environment.
For plants, animals and human beings to survive they must interact with the environment which is made up of living organisms and nonliving components. This system of interacting living organisms and nonliving components form what is known as the ecosystem.
Plants and animal must coexist to be able to survive and produce furture generations.
They depend on each other because plants produce what animals and humans need and vice versa.
Even the food chain itself is part of the environment and this therefore means that all plants, animals and humans depend on their surrounding.
