If we take examples then,

Like Na+ , Mg2+,Al3+

All these three ions have same number of electrons present in them i.e, 10.

Both Ar and Cl -

contains 18 electrons each. Hence, they are isoelectronic.

3.In case of H2O, central atom is oxygen, so take its 6-valence electrons, and add two monovalent hydrogen atoms, divide the whole by two as (6 + 2 /2) = 8/2 = 4

So ans obtained is 4 which indicates sp3-hybridization in H2O. .
