Concept used

>>Here the time,distance and speed relationship is used. The time interval between flash and thunder is given as 5 sec. The speed of the sound(thunder) is given as 330 m/sec. By applying formula we can find hen distance of the lighting flash from the observer.

Formula used

 \bigstar \bold \pink{Speed =\frac{Distance}{time} }

Solution

We know that

 \sf{ \to \red{ Speed =\frac{Distance}{time}} } \\  \\\sf{\implies330=\frac{Distance}{5} }

 \sf{ \implies Distance \: travelled = 330 × 5} \\  \\  \sf{ \implies Distance \: travelled = 1650 \:  metre.}

Therefore the distance of the lightening flash from the observer is 1650 metre.

More To Know !!

 \sf{✎Average \:  speed = \frac{Total\:distance}{Time}}

Distance- It is defined as the total movement of an object independent of direction. It's a scalar quantity.

Displacement- It is defined as the shortest path travelled by the object. It is direction dependent. It's a vector quantity.
