Explanation:

Whenever an email is deleted, it does not get deleted right away. First of all it goes to the trash or deleted item folder.

This is due to the fact that sometimes we accidentally delete email messages which we did want to loose otherwise.

Thus, this functions saves the day. You can recover your accidentally deleted emails from the folder.

Answer :-

All the e-mails that are deleted first moves into bin/trash folder.

The trash folder might be called with different names in different e-mail provider services.

Eg. :- It is called bin in G-mail whereas it is called trash on Yahoo.

Why don't they directly get deleted and first moves into bin or trash folder?

Sometimes some mails are deleted mistakenly. Therefore, e-mail providers provide us with an option to retrieve them back if in case they were some important mails.

Every Mail service provider has a limit of some days for the trash folder. It means, that the deleted mails remain in the bin or trash folder for a required amount of days.

  • For eg. :- Deleted E-mails in G-mail remain for 30 days. After that, they get deleted automatically.

  • In Yahoo, the days limit is of 7 days.

  • In Outlook, the days limit is of 10 days. etc.
