Answer:

(i) Percentage of employee who play golf is 40%

(ii) Percentage of employee who play golf is 60%

Step-by-step explanation:

Given as :

All the employees of a company play either golf or soccer.

If 80% of the employees play soccer .

And 20% of the employees play golf .

Let The total number of employee = 1000

So, Number of employees play soccer  = 80%  of total employee

Or,  Number of employees play soccer  = 80%  × 1000

∴  Number of employees play soccer  = 0.8 × 1000 = 800

And Number of employees play golf  = 20%  of total employee

Or,  Number of employees play golf  = 20%  × 1000

or, Number of employees play golf  = 0.2  × 1000

Number of employees play golf  = 200

( i ) 25% of the employees, who play soccer, also play golf.

So, 25 % of 800 = 0.25 × 800

Or, 25% of the employees, who play soccer, also play golf. = 200

So, Total number of employee play golf = 200 + 200 = 400

So, Percentage of employee who play golf = \dfrac{400}{1000} × 100 = 40%

Hence, Percentage of employee who play golf is 40%  Answer

(ii) 50% of the employees, who play golf, also play soccer.

So, 50 % of 800 = 0.5 × 800

Or, 50% of the employees, who play soccer, also play golf. = 400

So, Total number of employee play golf = 200 + 400 = 600

So, Percentage of employee who play golf = \dfrac{600}{1000} × 100 = 60%

Hence, Percentage of employee who play golf is 60%  Answer
