For example : Grass which are the primary producers are consumed by herbivores like Deer, Girrafe etc . They build up new cells by utilizing the energy released from digested grass. NEW MUSCLES ARE BORN.
This herbivores are eaten by carnivores which also produces their body mass by utilizing the digested food.
Hence grass are the primary producers and all the flesh of the carnivores are because of grasses at the very beginning of the food web.
