Yes liquids have spaces between constituent particles because the moleclues in liquids are loosely bound . They have high kinetic energies between moleclues so random motion is more and they have spaces between constituent particles.

Yes because their is space between the molecules in what we call inter-molecular spaces molecules of liquid have high kinetic energy compared to the solids.This results in ziggling of the molecules thereby giving matter the character of liquid.
