The TSA of a cylinder is 1540 cm^2. if its height is 4 times the radius of its base, find the diameter and height of the cylinder.

Let the height and radius of the cylinder be h and r respectively.

By the question, we know that h = 4r.

TSA of a cylinder =
2\pi \: r(r + h)

Taking value of pi as 22/7...

1540 = 2\pi \: r(r + 4r) \\ 770 = 5\pi \: {r}^{2} \\ 154 = \pi \: {r}^{2} \\ {r}^{2} = 49 \\ r = 7
r = 7 cm
h = 4×7 = 28 cm
diameter = 14 cm
