All work and no play makes Jack A Dull Boy. : This proverb stresses the fact that one should have a balanced life. Too much of work or study without any time for entertainment or other developmental activities will make a person dull and boring.

For students, bookish knowledge or academics alone will not help them scale great heights in their career. Overall personality development is very important and for this every person needs to enhance his/her knowledge. Students need to gain knowledge of everything that is happening around them to the best of their ability. The name Jack here is used as a general term to denote a person.

Ravi was a brilliant student who always stood first in his college and won many prizes for academic excellence. He was always seen either in the class or in the library with books in his hand. Ram was his classmate. Although Ram was not as brilliant as Ravi in terms of scoring marks, he was good at extracurricular activities like quiz, basketball and dramatics.

At the end of the college term many multinational companies visited their college to recruit the best of the students for prestigious jobs in their respective companies. The entire college was very sure that Ravi would bag the most coveted job with a princely salary because of his extraordinary academic performance. But finally it was Ram who was selected for the best of jobs. Ravi was very angry and demanded an explanation.

The person who conducted the interview told Ravi “It is true that you have better scores. But bookish knowledge alone will not help you perform well in an organization where you have to interact with different people and work as a team player. Ram has better exposure to the world in terms of general knowledge".

“Moreover as a sportsman he has learnt the value of sharing and team effort. He therefore has more adaptability and flexibility. We do not want someone who is just brilliant. We want someone who can learn, share and inspire others to perform. This is the reason why we selected him".

There is a valuable lesson to be learnt from this. Every one of us should take time off to equip ourselves with other skills apart from the work we do only then can we make a mark in life.

Answer:

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.: This adage emphasises the necessity of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. A person will get dull and bored if they work or study too much without taking time for relaxation or other developing activities.

Explanation:

Academics and bookish knowledge alone will not propel pupils to tremendous heights in their jobs. Overall personality development is vital, and everyone can contribute by learning more. Students must learn everything around them to the best of their abilities. The name Jack is used here to allude to a person in general.

Ravi was a talented student who consistently finished first in his college and received various academic prizes. He was always spotted holding books, whether in class or in the library. Ram was one of his classmates. Although Ram's grades were not as good as Ravi's, he excelled in extracurricular activities such as quizzes, basketball, and theatre.

At the end of the semester, many global corporations came to their institution to recruit the brightest students for lucrative employment in their separate organisations. Ravi's outstanding academic performance had persuaded the entire institution that he would get the most desirable job with the highest income. However, Ram was eventually picked for the position. Anry's name is ravi.

"It is true that you have greater scores," the interviewer said Ravi. Bookish knowledge, on the other hand, will not help you function effectively in an organisation where you must engage with a range of individuals and operate as part of a team. Ram has received more exposure to the world in terms of general knowledge ".

"He has also learned the value of sharing and teamwork as a sportsman." He is more versatile and flexible as a result. We are not seeking for a brilliant individual. We're looking for someone who can learn, share, and inspire others to thrive. This is why we chose him ".

There is an essential lesson to be learned here. Everyone should take time off work to develop new skills. Only then will they be able to affect change in their lives.
