All we need to do is find the difference between the largest data value in our set and the smallest data value. Stated succinctly we have the following formula: Range = Maximum Value–Minimum Value. For example, the data set 4,6,10, 15, 18 has a maximum of 18, a minimum of 4 and a range of 18-4 = 14.

Hi!

Yes !

If the data set is 4,6,10,15 and 18 .....

the maximum value will be 18 and minimum value will be 4 .....

( we know it as it is arranged in ascending order) .....

now that we r done finding the minimum and maximum value.....

we will find the range by subtracting the smaller one from the bigger one.....

Therefore in this example the range is....

maximum value - minimum value

18 - 4

= 14
