Speed = Distance/ Time

Time = Distance/ Speed.

t2 = S/ y

Ratio of time taken by Annie to time taken by Allen= t2/ t1

= (S/y) / (S/x)

= S/y × x/S

= x/y

t2:t1 = x:y
