To find:

M.P. of the watch.

Explanation:

Let, the M.P. be, 'n'.

Discount = 20%

∴ Discount = $(n$×$\frac{20}{100} )$

                  = $\frac{n}{5}$ [∵ Dividing 20 and 100 by 20.]

Vat= 10%

∴ Vat = $(n$×$\frac{10}{100})$

        = $\frac{n}{10}$ [∵ Dividing 10 and 100 by 10.]

∴ S.P. = $(n+\frac{n}{10}-\frac{n}{20})$

         = $(\frac{20n+2n-n}{20} )$ [∵ The L.C.M. of the denominators is 20.]

         = $\frac{19n}{20}$

∴ According to the problem:

$\frac{19n}{20}= 2376$

⇒ 19n = (2376×20)

⇒ 19n = 47520

⇒ n = (47520÷19)

⇒ n = Rs. 2501.05

∴ The M.P. of the watch is Rs. 2501.05
