The homogeneous mixtures which are formed by two or more metals or by one or more metals with certain non-metallic elements are called as the Alloys.

Any alloy in which the Mercury is used are called as the Amalgam. Hence, the alloy formed by the Sodium with the Mercury is called as the Sodium Amalgam.

Commonly there is only one ally called as the Sodium Amalgam which was formed by the Mercury and the Sodium.

Sodium Amalgam is used in the design of the high pressure of the sodium lamps which is actually safer and easier to handle than the dangerous Sodium.

Sodium Amalgam is represented as Na (Hg).  It is not the chemical formula, but it is the representation of the Alloy.

Alloys are commonly formed by the compounds of the Sodium and Mercury. Na₅Hg₈ and Na₃Hg are the compounds which are usually mixed during the formation of the Alloy.

Hope it helps.

silver amalgam

Explanation:

Sodium amalgam, commonly denoted Na(Hg), is an alloy of mercury and sodium. The term amalgam is used for alloys, intermetallic compounds, and solutions (both solid solutions and liquid solutions) involving mercury as a major component.
