Alluvial soil consists of various proportions of sand silt and clay and it also contains adequate proportions of potash, phosphoric acid and lime

so therefore its very fertile and suitable for growing crops

Laterite soil are mostly acidic in nature (ph<6)

and are prone to erosion and degradation due to their position

in semi-arid environment they are poor in humus and therefore are used in making bricks
