answer 1,. Leaves must fall. Evergreens can hang on to their leaves through winter, because their foliage is coated in a wax that helps protect against cold, and their cells bear anti-freeze chemicals that ward off winter's worst woes. Not so for broadleaf, or deciduous, trees.
answer2,. The chlorophyll breaks down, the greencolor disappears, and the yellow to orange colors become visible and give the leaves part of their fall splendor. At the same time other chemical changesmay occur, which form additionalcolors through the development of red anthocyanin pigments.

Q :- why do leaves fall of From the tree plants?
Ans :- Plants shedding there leaves to survive in winter season
When winter set in the day become shorter and the sunlight is hardly available which means rate of photosynthesis decrease.
So when sunlight is not available the tree are not able to make sufficient food rather than continuing to make food with the little sunlight they go in rest position by shedding their leaves.
In this way they use very little energy and has just enough water and nutrition stored in their trunk to stay alive till spring arrives.
But some plants do not shedding there leaves throughout the year, those type of plats are called Evergreen plants
Reason 2nd -
In winter season there is no sufficient sunlight which results the cells present in the leaves will die, so there will be no transportation of water and nutrients which are required for survival.
So, The died (dried) do not contain any water. Thus they are lighter in weight with respect to normal leaves.
Being lighter they are easily blown away by wind.

Q :- why do leaves change colour when they fall down ?
Ans :- Leaves are usually green in colour due to presence of chlorophyll (green pigment).
But we know that many more pigments are also found in leaves apart from chlorophyll like Carotnoids (colour range - red to orange), Xanthophyll (yellow in colour), etc but remain covered by chlorophyll.
when leaves falls down there is no supply of water, results reduce in chlorophyll production also, so the green colour starts fading from the leaf. While other pigments start expressing their colour. As a result the leaves become red, yellow & orange.
