Question:-

Alok has 3 times as much as money as Riya. Riya has Rs.200 less than Madhav and Madhav has Rs.50 more than Alok. If the total amount of money that Alok, Riya and Madhav have is Rs.575, find the amount of money each has.

Solution:-

Let the amount of money with Riya be Rs.x.

Then, Alok has 3x and Madhav has 3x + Rs.50.

So, the total money with the three children,

x + 3x + 3x + 50 = 575

=> 7x + 50 = 575

=> 7x + 50 - 50 = 575 - 50

=> 7x = 575

=> 7x/7 = 575/7

=> x = Rs.75

Money with Riya=>

Rs.x = Rs.75

Money with Alok =>

= 3x = 3 × ( Rs. 75 ) Rs. 225

Money with Madhav=>

3x + Rs.50

= 3 ( Rs. 75 ) + Rs.50

= Rs.225 + Rs. 50

= Rs. 275

Alok has Rs.225 Riya has Rs.75 and Madhav has Rs.275.
