this is question of balancing

here you should ensure that each number of atoms of particular element on both sides are equall

for ex in (1)

Al+HCL--------->AlCl3 +H2

here

left handside right handside

no. of atoms no. of atoms

AL =1 AL=1

CL =1 CL=3

H=1 H=2

here you can see Al is balanced already !

chlorine is not balanced

so , multiply 3 to HCL

you will see..

AL+3HCL ------> ALCL3 +H2

now CL and AL balanced only hydrogen is left

now multiply 3/2 to hydrogen

.

AL+3HCL ---->AlCl3 + 3/2H2

====> 2AL +6HCL ---->2AlCl3 + 3H2

now i hope you can do all by this method !

zahraktab12: yeah thanks it was helpful
zahraktab12: why did you do
zahraktab12: why did you multiply 3/2 to hydrogen
SRK1729: look it closely you will see that after balancing aluminium and chlorine , only hydrogen left on ons side hydrogen is 3 and on right side hydrogen was only 2 so i multiply 3/2 to right side of hydrogen so that it can become 3 as......(3/2×2)=3 therefore i made the right side hydrogen also 3....
SRK1729: and hence without affecting others i balanced
zahraktab12: ok got it thanks
