Air is a homogenous mixture of gases
it means it has gases with its own property we read that in a homognous mixture constituentd lose their property
but in air all gases are not exists in elemental form some gases are mixed we have to do some techinques to get it out

so in that case we cant call it a mixture coz in a mixture we can easily seperate its constituents by physical methods whereas in a compound we have to take help of complex chemical methods
