although b (boron) is smaller in size as comered to be( berellium)but the frist ionisation enthalpy of be ( berellium) is higher than b ( boron).

first ionisation enthalpy of Be is higher than B because Be has 4 electrons in the outermost shell which increases nuclear charge(they are attracted more Powerfully by the nucleus).
