Although B––F bond in BF3 is polar but the dipole moment of BF3 is zero, why?

Answer:

Due to t he TRIGONAL PLANAR geometry of BF₃ the three f atoms are oriented in an bond angle of 120 degrees. The resultant of the dipole moment caused two BF bonds is at 180 degrees with the third one. Thus the three get cancelled.Thus ,the net dipole moment is zero.

Answer:this molecule is trigonal planar.....and F is more electronegative than B....that's why the three dipole will act in opposite direction and cancel each others effect

That's why it is a non polar molecule
