Although dihydrogen is the third most abundant element on the surface of the globe yet it is not found in our atmosphere. Why?

Dihydrogen is not found in our atmosphere even though it is 3rd most abundant element because of the following reasons:

- It is quite reactive and it forms compounds with most of the elements.

- So it is not found in earth's atmosphere in pure form.

- It is mostly found in combined form in the atmosphere.

- Moreover, the dihydrogen molecules are very light and the gravitational pull of earth isnot enough to retain them.
