the bond angle of h2o is less than that of nh3 because of the presence of 2 lone pairs in h2o molecule and 1 lone pair in nh3 molecule . the more the no. of lone pairs more the repulsion. in h2o molecule lone pair -lone pair repulsioñ and lone pair -bond pair repulsioñ exists, but in case of nh3 only lone pair bond pair repulsioñ takes place… and thus bond angle of nh3 is 107 and that of h2o is 104 5'
