although IE1 values of alkaline earth metals are higher than those of alkaline metals, the IE2 values of alkaline earth metals are much smaller than those of alkali metals why?​

After losing an electron the electronic configuration of alkali metals have complete octet which is extra stable. So to remove electron from extra stable octet it will require great amount of energy and hence has higher values of I.E 2 for alkali earth metals
