Indian coastline is about 7500 km.
Its water level is more because it is gifted with two islands.
Even though India is surrounded with vast coastline, political and social disputes keep arising due to water.
This is because the available water is in such a state which that it cannot be used and it is, also, not distributed properly.
The following points state it clearly:
• In olden civilization, the people understood the value of water and they properly planned regarding the efficient use of water.
But now, there is a scarcity of water which is due to humansmanmade.
It is also because of the increasing population and improper allocation of the water resource.
• India is a country where agriculture is the main source of food or one of the top followers of agricultural produce.
Water plays an important role in the growth of crops.
The irrigation methodology used for the growth of crops is still the traditional one, where more water is used and is wasted.
• The wastes such as drainage and chemical from factories are being released to the traditional water bodies which makes it unfit for use.
• Natural disasters, and uneven distribution of water also contributes to the problem.
All the above stated reasons cause the water to be scarce or unfit to use.
This is because the necessary action is not taken to overcome the above stated issues.
The coastline water cannot be directly consumed so certain steps and methodologies should be followed so that, the water is made usable.
