because the rays are going directly which produce heat and there is no gas. w which deflect it and the surface of Venus absorb it so that's why this is very hot than mercury

It's bcoz mercury have no atmosphere.. so the heat which it receives from the sun lost into space..

But, Venus has a very thick atmosphere of carbon dioxide. This thick atmosphere makes the surface of Venus hotter because the heat doesn't escape back into the space..
