● Rayon is well known as Artificial silk !

→ Rayon is known as Artificial fibre or man made fibre because - It has properties similar to that of artificial fibres. Also rayon is a Regenerated cellulose fibre obtained by chemically modifying naturally occurring cotton. They have barely some properties similar to natural fibre [ Releases A smell of burning paper when burnt ]. Hence We Can consider that although rayon is obtained from a natural source i.e Cellulose from Wood pulp, yet is a man made fiber.

Example :
○ Burns readily [ Releases Smell of Burning paper as It is obtained from cellulose or wood pulp ]

⦿Uses of Rayon -
