The distance between 2 latitudes is constant i.e. 111 km . But the distance between 2 longitude differs with the latitude.The distance between 2 longitude increases as it approaches equator. As India lies on the Tropic of cancer , the dis. b/w 2 long. is moderate compared to latitude . So the north-south extent is longer
