Although the latitudinal and longitudinal extent of the countries the same but the distance between them is different why?

The longitudinal extent is 8°4' to 37°6'.
37-8= 31


And ,latitudinal extent is 68°7' to 97°25'.
97-68 = 29

The Diffrence is approx 2°

Now, 1°= 111km so 2°= 222km

so,,now you can get that there is not much difference...
