AlThough the story is simple it is not without its humour. The story revolves around the idea of having unquestionable belief in something. Satirically, the writer has referred to the pellets of frozen rain as new silver coins. The humor can also be detected when Lencho was described as an ox of a man, working like an animal in the fields, but who still he knew how to write.
