Althougha stone and the earth attract each other with equal force, why do we observe that only the stone falls towards the earth but not the earth rising towards the stone?explain.

Let the mass and acceleration of the stone be m and a, respectively.

Let the mass and acceleration of the earth be M and a', respectively.


F = ma = Ma'


m << M


Therefore


a>> a'


As the acceleration of the stone is very much greater than the acceleration of the Earth, we find that only the stone is moving.

but mass of earth is more than that of the earth.
so,we observe stone moving towards earth and not earth towards stone
