altitude of the sun varies at a place according to seasons.why?

The axis of Earth is tilted at the angle of 23.44 degrees.

Then the rotation of earth results in tilting the Earth towards the direction of Sun across the sky that will make the path shorter whereas when it is titles away, the path will be longer.

This will result in a vary of temperature making the sun low on the horizon.
