First you should write symbols acc. To the ques.

So, Al + CuCl2 ---------------> AlCl3 + Cu

Then balance it

=> 2Al + 3CuCl2 -----------> 2AlCl3 + 3Cu

I hope it will help you a lot

Explanation:

A balanced equation is an equation in which there are equal number of both the reactant and product molecules.

For example, Al + CuCl_{2} \rightarrow AlCl_{3} + Cu

Number of atoms on reactant side are as follows.

  • Al = 1
  • Cu = 1
  • Cl = 2

Number of atoms on product side are as follows.

  • Al = 1
  • Cl = 3
  • Cu = 1

Therefore, in order to balance the equation multiply Al by 2 and CuCl_{2} by 3 on reactant side. Whereas multiply AlCl_{3} by 2 and Cu by 3 on product side.

Thus, the balanced chemical equation will be as follows.

      2Al + 3CuCl_{2} \rightarrow 2AlCl_{3} + 3Cu
