Aluminum is especially used because of the following reasons:
-Its high reactivity leads to formation of aluminum oxide when it reacts with oxygen. The aluminum oxide prevents it from further corrosion as it acts as a protective layer. The reaction that takes place is as follows:
4Al + 3O2 -------> 2Al2O3
- Aluminum is also used because it is a good conductor of heat.
-Aluminum is also relatively cheap and that is why it is used widely in making utensils.
