Aluminum develops a protective layer of aluminum oxide by slowly reacting with oxygen present in air.

After this layer formation , air can't react with aluminum present, hence there is only less corrosion.

In compare , iron can't form protective layer hence it easily gets corroded.

Aluminum is highly more reactive to oxygen to oxygen than iron. It reacts spontaneously when exposed to air forming a microscopic layer of Al2O3. The coating is extremely hard and protects the aluminum from further corrosion and this coating is chemically resistant.
