Aluminium is quite reactive metal,when it is kept in air or oxygen for some time, the upper surface gets converted into its oxide called aluminium oxide (AI2O3),which gets deposited as a thin coating on the surface of the metal. Therefore this metal is usedpacking food articles which do not get spoiled in the foil.
