Aluminium is used to make utensils for cooking food as it is a good conductor of heat.
- Aluminium has a relatively high melting point and a substantial thermal conductivity. Thus, for this reason only Aluminium is used to make the cooking utensils.
- Cooking utensils made from aluminium are safe. It is lightweight, is also inexpensive. It is unlikely that the amount of aluminum consumed in food from cooking utensils would be detrimental.
- Some of the aluminum can dissolve and be absorbed into the food when food is cooked or stored in aluminum containers
