Aluminium occurs in combined state where is gold is found in free state in nature this is because aluminium is very reactive metal while gold very less reactive metal,
Therefore aluminium reacts with other elements or compounds but gold does not .Thus aluminium occurs in combined state while gold occurs in free state.

Gold is a highly unreactive metal and is called a noble metal. It does not combine to form compounds easily and is mostly found in free state.
Whereas aluminium reacts quite easily, compared to gold, and there found as Alumina or aluminium oxide in Bauxite ore.
