Aluminium reacts with dilute hydrochloric acid to give aluminium chloride solution and hydrogen. Explain why the reaction of dilute hydrochloric acid with aluminium foil is fairly slow whereas the reaction with the same mass of aluminium powder can be extremely vigorous.

it is because in aluminum foil outer covering reacts first and the inner layers becomes unreacted but if aluminum powder is used then all of the aluminum will react with HCl hence making the reaction vigrous.
please mark it as the brainliest

AnanyaTh: will the Al foil inner layers react later on
AnanyaTh: like is it a slow process?
AnanyaTh: or do the layers not react at all?
yajat1810: no first the outer surface reacts with HCl and then next and keeps going until Al is not over
AnanyaTh: thank you so much !!
yajat1810: ok
yajat1810: but don't forget to mark it as the brainliest
AnanyaTh: yes I won't !!!
yajat1810: ok
yajat1810: thanks
