Answer:

4Al + 3O2 ----> 2Al2O3

4 moles of Al reacts with 3 moles of O2 to get 2 Moles of aluminium oxide.

0.5 moles of Al reacts with 0.5x 3/4 = 0.375 moles of oxygen.

Given - Amount of aluminium - 0.5 moles

Find - Number of moles of oxygen required.

Solution - Aluminium and oxygen react to give aluminium oxide. The reaction is as follows -

4Al + 3O2 --> 2Al2O3.

4 moles of aluminium react with 3 moles of oxygen

0.5 moles of aluminium require - 3/4*0.5

Moles of oxygen required - 0.375.

Hence, 0.375 moles of oxygen will be required to react completely with 0.5 moles of aluminium.
