aluminum is reactive metal but it is still used for packings food materials. why?

Yes, aluminium is reactive metal .

It is stored because of its ductile and mallable property not only that but aluminium is not so reactive as per displacement reaction.Also the oxidation rate.

aluminium foils are used to pack foods as a layer forms on the food called aluminium oxide
which protects the food..
