Aman got a naughty idea. He wanted to measure the temperature of hot milk using a clinical thermometer. His friend stopped him from doing so. Temperature range: 35-42°C

Precautions:

1) Make sure the mercury level is below 35°C

2) Handle with care, the mercury in the thermometer is toxic.

The kink prevents the rapid falling of the mercury back into the bulb of the thermometer. Hence we can measure the temperature of the body accurately and conveniently even if the thermometer is taken out from the body.

The question isnt clear, She might have shaked it to let the mercury settle.
