Let the number of apples Aman had be x.

Therefore,

Apples given to Mohit = x/2 + 1/2

Then apples remaining = x - x/2 + 1/2

                                       = ( 2x - x ) /2  + 1/2                                 (Using L.C.M.)

                                       = x/2 + 1/2

Therefore apples given to Rahul = ( x/2 ) / 2 +1/2

                                                       =  x/4 + 1/2

Then the apples left with Aman = 9

Therefore,

According to Question ;

x = x/2 + 1/2 + x/4 + 1/2 + 9

x - x/2 - x/4 = 1/2 + 1/2 + 9

( 4x - 2x - x ) /2 = 1 + 9                                                              ( Using L.C.M.)

x/2 = 10

x = 10 * 2

x = 20

Therefore Aman had 20 apples with him.

Hope it helps
