Let Aditi age=x years
Then Aman age=3x years

Aditi age 5 years ago=(x-5) years
Aman age 5 years ago=(3x-5) years

Equation can be set
5(x-5)=3x-5

Now why we take Multiply 5 to age of aditi.As We are using linear equation in which both sides are same.So,

5(x-5)=3x-5
5x-25=3x-5
5x-3x=-5+25
2x=20
X=20/2
X=10

Aditi=10 years
Aman=3x=3×10=30 years
