Given :

  • Aman got 410 marks out of 500 in CBSE XII examination
  • Anish got 536 marks out of 600 in IX class examination

To find :

  • Find percentage of both.
  • Find whose performance is better.

Formula used :

Percentage = Marks obtained × 100/ Maximum marks

Solution :

First of all we need to find percentage of both, and therefore we will compare Percentage obtained by both ( the more is percentage better is performance )

________________________________

Percentage of Aman = (Marks obtained by Aman × 100) ÷ ( Maximum marks)

➝ Percentage of Aman = ( 410 × 100) ÷ ( 500)

➝ Percentage of Aman = 41000 ÷ 500

➝ Percentage of Aman = 82%

________________________________

Percentage of Anish = (Marks obtained by Anish × 100) ÷ ( Maximum marks)

➝ Percentage of Anish = ( 536 × 100) ÷ ( 600)

➝ Percentage of Anish = 53600 ÷ 600

➝ Percentage of Anish = 89.33%

_______________________________

Form above it is clear that,

  • Percentage obtained by Aman = 82%
  • Percentage obtained by Anish = 89.33%

It is clear that , Anish has obtained more Percentage than Aman and hence performance of Anish is better than Aman
