Hey!

Let the present age of Aman be x
and his son's be y

• Aman's age is 3 times his son's age.

x = 3y .....( i )

• Ten years ago Aman was five times his son's age .

° Ten years ago Aman's age was:: ( x - 10)

and his son's age was :: ( y - 10 )

( x - 10 ) = 5 ( y - 10 )

x - 10 = 5y - 50

x - 5y - 10 + 50 = 0

x - 5y + 40 = 0 .... ( ii )

Putting the value of x from ( i ) in ( ii )

x - 5y + 40 = 0

3y - 5y + 40 = 0

- 2y = - 40

y = 20

Putting value of y in ( i )

x = 3y

x = 3 × 20

x = 60

So, the Present age of Aman is 60 years
and his son's age is 20 years
